A few days ago we unveiled the best places to enjoy spring that has selected National Geographic and today we continue with this wonderful list:
1. Lakes of Chile and the region of volcanoes
This unique landscape of volcanoes and emerald lakes located in the heart of Chile, between northern Atacama and southern Patagonia over a dozen national parks and reserves, as the Villarrica National Park, which offers very special excursions such as rafting or dive into fabulous hot springs.
2. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee and North Carolina, USA
With over 800 miles of trails through some of the oldest mountains on Earth, this national park is one of the most visited in the country and spring is the best time to do it: wildflowers, native animals….
Just an hour by train from Bergen, it is one of the best ways to enjoy nature in Norway and its fjords: trains, cruises… Also in spring it is held the Extreme Sports Week in Voss and it is still possible to practice winter sports like skiing or snowboarding.
4. Flors Temps Festival, Girona, Spain
The region of the Costa Brava is dyed with colors during the spring, especially during the festival of Temps de Flors of Girona, from 12-20 May, during which the steps of the cathedral of the city are filled with beautiful flowers. Plus, you can stroll along the nearby beaches and explore the rich history of the medieval city.
5. Expo 2012, Yeosu, South Korea
The mountainous peninsula of Yeosu, comprising over 300 islands and two marine national parks, is an ideal place to host the Expo 2012 from May 12 to August 12.
