A geyser is a spring characterized by intermittent discharge of water accompanied by a vapour. This spectacular phenomena exists only in a few places on Earth, generally near active volcanic areas since the geyser effect is due to the proximity of magma , requiring a combination of water, heat, and fortuitous plumbing.
